The Champlain Housing Trust provides a wide range of housing throughout Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle counties. We help people on all rungs of the housing ladder, from single room occupancies to rental apartments to cooperative homes to condominiums and single family homes. Over 2,000 households live in Champlain Housing Trust homes in the region.
Housing Development
Champlain Housing Trust develops permanently affordable housing with extensive working knowledge of real estate law, capital markets, financing structures and construction.
Community Technical Assistance
Many communities want to help address local affordable housing issues but do not know how to begin or sustain the effort. Champlain Housing Trust works with communities to develop local solutions that last.
Community Land Trust Model
Through the Community Land Trust model, Champlain Housing Trust provides stewardship by preserving scarce affordable and community resources and creates innovative, safe, and secure housing opportunities for lower-income community members.
Champlain housing Loan Fund
This loan fund provides low-interest loans for home repairs, weatherization, septic systems and wells for residents of Chittenden (Burlington residents are not eligible), Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties. Grants for lead-based paint hazard abatement are also available when state funds are are available.

Champlain Housing Trust operates with the institutional commitment that the key to sustainable affordable housing rests on well maintained properties and solid asset management.
Housing Co-op Technical Support
Through the Co-op Housing Program, the Champlain Housing Trust provides technical support services to housing cooperatives and resident associations in our area. This support includes membership selection, application processing, training and ongoing operational support.
Resident Service Coordination
Residents sometimes need a little help to face life’s challenges and enjoy successful housing experiences. Champlain Housing Trust provides resident service coordination throughout our rental properties.
