Cooperative Housing
In co-op housing, there is no landlord. Instead, residents (supported by designated CHT staff) work together to maintain the co-op, finances, and solve problems that arise. Champlain Housing Trust's Cooperative Housing Program has five co-ops in the greater Burlington area, with 81 units of member housing.
In co-op housing, resident members work together to maintain the management of the co-op through a Board of Directors and committees that address finance, legal, buildings and grounds, member selection, social and communications, and more.
