Some Cedar's Edge Residents to Move In Today

24-Dec-2011

Eighteen of the 30 apartments at Cedar’s Edge in Essex are open to move back into Christmas Eve following significant water damage to the building early this week. Residents of the remaining twelve apartments are being housed at either CHT apartments, temporarily in hotels or with a family member.

The 18 allowed to move back in had no water damage, but needed to be relocated this week because service panels and fire alarm and suppression systems need repair or replacement. This work was completed and passed state and local inspection Friday.

The 12 apartments that did see water damage are being repaired. Some of this damage is extensive and may take eight to ten weeks; other apartments will be completed sooner.

A family member of one of the residents will be organizing a benefit to assist those residents who lost furniture and other possessions in the flooding. More details on the benefit will be provided as they become available.

CHT extends our appreciation to the residents for their patience and understanding through this challenging week.
